Florida sun and your car

If your car sits outside in Florida, it gets a lot of sun, dust and rain. Here are simple habits that help.

Cover it or park in shade

If the car stays outdoors for more than about 6 hours, cover it or park it in the shade when you can. A cover keeps dust and sun off the paint and the dash.

Keep it clean

Dust and dirt that stay on the paint are harder to remove the longer they sit. Regular washing keeps them from sticking.

Wash in the shade

Washing a hot panel in direct sun makes soap dry on it and leave marks. Shade, or an early or late hour, works better.
